North Salt Lake Offices is a three-story, 39,000 sq ft office building with twisting floor plates connected by one taller central mass. The building is supported by exposed structural cross-bracing and the building's first level is split into two separate forms to accommodate a drive-thru. The twisting floor plates create a variety of balconies that point towards the various views. This was an important request from the client as it creates a space for employees to get outside during the workday. The twisting plates also enhance views from the outside in, as this building can be viewed from I-15, Highway 89, and a number of on-ramps and off-ramps. Every view of this dynamic building will be unique as shadows will change the way it looks throughout the day and year.
